Dr. Sarah Allen is an integrative medicine practitioner whose work combines acupuncture, clinical nutrition, whole-body healing therapies, and personalized patient care. Her approach is deeply informed by both extensive clinical training and her own personal healing journey overcoming Rheumatoid Arthritis naturally.
With over 13 years of experience in integrative and holistic healthcare, Dr. Allen has worked with patients seeking support for chronic pain, autoimmune conditions, stress-related disorders, digestive health, nervous system regulation, injury recovery, and overall wellness.
Prior to relocating her practice to St. Petersburg, Florida, she practiced in Central Oregon, where she developed a deeply personalized and whole-body approach to patient care integrating acupuncture, clinical nutrition, bodywork, cold laser therapy, and restorative healing modalities.
She holds a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine with a specialization in Integrative Health from Pacific College of Health and Science, in addition to a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture and a Master of Education and Professional Development.
Dr. Allen also holds multiple certifications in holistic and integrative healing therapies, guided by the belief that true healing often requires a highly individualized and whole-body approach to care.
Rather than relying on a single modality, her work integrates a diverse range of therapies designed to support the physical, emotional, nutritional, and energetic aspects of health. This integrative philosophy allows treatments to be thoughtfully tailored to each patient’s unique needs, goals, and healing journey.
Throughout her career, Dr. Allen has remained passionate about bridging ancient healing traditions with modern integrative medicine to help patients restore balance, resilience, and long-term wellness.
Deciding to leave my 15-year career as an English as a Second Language teacher in Wisconsin and around the world to become a natural health practitioner was a long and life- changing journey.
The idea first came to mind when I was 28 years old and battling Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). Upon diagnosis, I was told I would never run again and that the disease could leave me permanently disabled. I was prescribed methotrexate — a chemotherapy medication — indefinitely.
Rather than continuing down that path, I chose a different route.
After extensive research, lifestyle changes, and nutritional intervention, I was able to place my disease into permanent remission under the direction of Dr. Joseph Mercola using food as medicine.
Not only did I regain my health, but I became healthier and stronger than ever before. Within one year, I returned to training and completed my first triathlon. That experience completely transformed my understanding of healing and inspired me to dedicate my life to helping others reclaim their health naturally.
Years later, while teaching in Brazil, I was introduced to Traditional Chinese Medicine after seeking treatment for a sports injury. I was amazed to discover that acupuncture not only helped alleviate my pain, but also improved my sleep, energy, stress levels, and overall well- being.
The experience profoundly impacted me. I began recommending acupuncture to friends and colleagues, several of whom experienced life-changing results themselves.
At that pivotal point, I decided to transition fully into the field of integrative medicine and pursued advanced training in acupuncture, Chinese medicine, clinical nutrition, and holistic healing therapies in Miami, Florida and beyond.
Today, Dr. Allen’s work combines both personal experience and years of clinical education to support patients through a whole-body approach to healing. She believes true wellness comes from addressing underlying patterns within the body rather than simply suppressing symptoms.
Her practice integrates acupuncture, Nutrition Response Testing®, cold laser therapy, bodywork, herbal and nutritional support, facial rejuvenation therapies, and other restorative modalities designed to help patients feel healthier, stronger, and more connected to their bodies.
Food as medicine and root-cause healing continue to be central passions within her work.
While she commonly works with autoimmune conditions, chronic pain, stress-related disorders, and musculoskeletal conditions, she supports patients with a wide range of health concerns through personalized, integrative care.
It is Dr. Allen’s mission to educate, empower, and support patients in creating long-term wellness naturally and sustainably. She feels deeply honored to walk alongside people in their healing journeys and remains committed to lifelong learning, growth, and compassionate patient care.
